Finance Apprentice (AAT)
Location: Witney Town Hall, Market Square, Witney, OX28 6AG
Salary: £15,771 per annum, rising to £17,742 on attainment of Level 2 (plus national pay awards)
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Apprenticeship; leading to permanent employment

About the Role
Kickstart your finance career with Witney Town Council!
We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Finance Apprentice to join our friendly team and study towards the AAT qualification. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, develop valuable finance skills, and play a part in supporting your local community.
As a Finance Apprentice, you’ll gain hands-on experience in areas such as:
- Processing income and expenditure
- Handling invoices, receipts, and payments
- Assisting with payroll and budget reports
- Supporting VAT returns and audits
- Providing day-to-day office support
You’ll spend one day per week studying towards your professional qualification, with full support from your manager and training provider.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has good attention to detail and enjoys working with numbers
- Is organised, reliable, and keen to learn
- Communicates well and enjoys being part of a team
- Has Maths and English qualifications (or equivalent)
An interest in local government or community services would be an advantage.
