ASSISTANT OPERATIONS & ESTATES OFFICER

Full Time 37 hours per week – £21,745 to £23,166 per annum

Witney Town Council is looking to employ a hardworking conscientious person to fill the new and exciting role of Assistant Operations & Estates Officer.

Part of a small team you will be integral to supporting the Operations & Estates Officer with the day to day running of the Council’s services, and maintenance of assets, ensuring compliance with legislation, policy, and budgets.  You will be well organised and able to maintain records and databases, both written and computerised.

The successful applicant will also support the Cemeteries Officer with maintaining the burial records, liaising with Funeral Directors, the bereaved, Memorial Stone Masons and visitors to the Council’s Cemeteries.

Part of the role will be to take responsibility for the Council’s entry into the ‘Britain in Bloom’ competition as well as the ‘Schools Challenge – In Bloom Competition’, so would suit someone with a keen interest in horticulture and working with community groups.  Experience of Event Management would be an advantage with the Council’s expanding events calendar.  Currently the Council facilitates several large community events in the town, as well as holding its own Civic events throughout the year.

The post holder will also be required to assist the Operations & Estates Officer in the delivery of projects, both minor and major, working closely with technical teams and contractors.

There will be a high degree of customer contact so excellent customer care and communication skills are a necessity.

MAINTENANCE FOREMAN/CEMETERY ATTENDANT

Full Time 37 hours per week – £24,717 to £28,203 per annum

Witney Town Council is looking to employ an experienced Maintenance Foreman/Cemetery Attendant with good supervisory skills and knowledge of Cemeteries, maintaining outdoor facilities and general buildings maintenance.

The successful applicant will head up the Council’s small Maintenance Team and co-ordinate planned and responsive facilities management, maintenance and repairs across a wide range of premises and services.

They will also be responsible for the duties associated with the burial of the dead and cremated remains within the Council’s Cemeteries.

Working with the Senior Management team the post-holder will also ensure services, buildings and premises are compliant with relevant legislation and Council policy.  In particular, providing technical support on the on-going maintenance, security and safety of Council premises/facilities.

The post holder will also be required to assist the Operations & Estates Officer in the delivery of projects, both minor and major, working closely with technical teams and contractors.

PART-TIME CARETAKER £7.85 PER HOUR

Witney Town Council is looking for an enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated person who would like to provide a key role in providing excellent customer service to users of the Council’s Public Halls.

This post is part time, 25 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours.  Hours of work will be negotiable to be worked flexibly on a rota over 7 days, including early mornings, evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the business.

You will be required to assist in the security and maintenance of the Council’s buildings and ensuring rooms are set up/laid out meeting the needs of the hirers.
