Splash Park Refurbishment Contract Awarded

Witney Town Council is delighted to confirm that Ustigate has been awarded the contract for the refurbishment and renewal of The Leys Splash Park. Renovation work will be starting soon, guided by valuable feedback collected during a consultation at the Witney Carnival last year.

The water play area will receive significant upgrades, including new efficient spray jets to reduce water usage, above-ground decorative play items, a rainbow-themed floor, a modern plant room, new waste water infrastructure that allows us to reuse runoff water and a comprehensive service and maintenance package to ensure consistent, reliable operation.

Residents selected the amazing elements above in a consultation exercise at the Witney Carnival last year. There is now an opportunity to vote for the final look for the rainbow floor using the link below.

The Leys Recreation Ground holds a special place in our community, especially the well -loved water play area. Witney Town Council’s summer vision for The Leys is focused on delivering unforgettable experiences, with plans to unveil an upgraded splash park that will provide a high-quality, safe, and enjoyable play experience. This new addition will complement the fantastic new wheeled sports park located next door, offering the kind of high-quality amenities and destination park that Witney and its residents truly deserve.

Cllr Ruth Smith, Leader of the Council, stated, “The council has put money aside every year for the splash park’s major refit this year. I am very happy to see this project on time, when so much is in flux at The Leys. It will bring improvements to the muddiness of the area and lots of new fun for the children.”
